Our Counterproposal Addresses All of the Priorities That Unite Us. We’re Not Leaving Anyone Behind!

After our powerful sticker-up Monday, we successfully moved management to bring us a full economic proposal, but the work isn’t done.

Providence Swedish’s proposal puts a lot of money on the table, and it needs to be more closely aligned with our vision to retain and recruit workers at Swedish.

Our bargaining team is feeling encouraged to see Providence Swedish use the Racial Justice lens, but we need more money up front to address retention — both for those of us who have been here for many years, and for our newer coworkers just beginning their career journeys and starting at the bottom of the scale. Our vision for a great contract would allow ALL of us to build up the wealth needed to live in the communities we serve.

We delivered a counterproposal that addresses all of the priorities that unite us, such as strong across-the-board increases, retention bonuses and incentives, shift incentives, increased retirement contributions, expanded break relief, and more. Our counter proposal better sets up workers for financial stability; it establishes wages that will bring people here, and sets up a retention program that will keep workers here. We’re not leaving anyone behind.

We’re back at the bargaining table tomorrow – Thursday September 1, 2022! We’ll keep you all up to date on our progress to reaching a fair agreement.
